PESTICIDES:

  The term pesticides encompasses many specific end uses such as for plants (herbicides), fungus (fungicides), insects (insecticides), rodenticides, etc.  The turf industry is keenly aware of fungus threats, as orchard growers monitor insect infestations.  Pesticide use in this locale generally involves weed control, therefore, herbicides.  Corn and grasses are grown on most acreages.  Even with this limited crop use, there are several herbicide choices.  Specific products are selected each season.

PRODUCT LIST:

Corn:  Accent, Atrazine, Banvel, 2,4-D, Bicep, Dual, Guardsman, Lumax, Northstar, Permit, Prowl, Roundup, Simazine (Princep).

Grasslands:   Banvel, 2,4-D, Forefront, Crossbow.

 Clover:   Poast Plus.

Seedings:  Butyrac200.

Insecticides include:  Lorsban, Permethin, Sevin.

Pond weed control:  Copper sulfate, Cutrine, Diquat

Fungicides:   Captan
