LIME:

Lime is applied to soils primarily to raise the p.H., meaning, to help neutralize soil acidity.  Lime serves other functions such as improving soil tilth, increasing fertilizer availability to the plant, and providing secondary nutrients such as magnesium and calcium.  A suitable pH rating will range between 6.0 & 7.0, depending on the target crop or plant specie, Christmas trees verses alfalfa.  Having a sample of soil analyzed will provide the needed answers.  The analysis fee is very nominal.

General categorization:

Hi-Magi (high magnesium content.)  Synonymous with dolomitic lime, or dolomite,

Hi-Cal (less magnesium content).  Proportionately high calcium content.  Calcitic.

Damp hi-mag lime is our stocked product.  The dampness prevents from being free flowing.  Hi-mag is stocked in bulk and available for patron pick-up, as well as to be truck spread.  Twelve tons is a maximum load for the spreader trucks.  Trailer loads can be delivered and dumped on the patrons’ property, i.e. direct dump.  Each direct dump load will weigh about 22-24 tons.  Rental spreaders are available.  Option:  the lime is dumped on site, with the 10-wheeler spreader trucks deployed there also.  This eliminates considerable road time and associated expenses.

Hi- Cal needs will generally be handled as special orders.

Bulk palletized lime is generally kept on hand.  This dry product is user friendly, flowing freely through smaller broadcast spreaders.  This allows for easy application to lawns and fields not appropriate for the heavy/cumbersome spreader trucks.
